Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This Act authorises the Commonwealth Government to pay £450,000 (four hundred and fifty thousand pounds) to the State of Tasmania as financial assistance for the financial year 1935–1936.

Source of funds: The money comes from the Consolidated Revenue Fund (the Commonwealth’s main account for tax revenue and national income).
Payment method: The amount is to be paid in equal monthly instalments throughout the year.
Purpose: This is a direct grant from the federal government to Tasmania, reflecting historical federal-state financial arrangements where the Commonwealth provided specific assistance to states.

In essence, this is a short administrative law that approves a specific budget payment—similar to modern appropriation bills, just with pre-decimal currency and significantly fewer pages.
