Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This law authorised the Commonwealth Government to pay Tasmania £80,000 (eighty thousand pounds) as financial assistance during the 1932–1933 financial year.

Key points:

Additional support: This money was on top of an earlier grant already being paid under the Tasmania Grant Act 1929
Payment method: The amount was paid in 12 equal monthly instalments across the year
Funding source: The money came from the Consolidated Revenue Fund (the Commonwealth’s main government bank account)
Context: Enacted during the Great Depression to help Tasmania meet its financial obligations when state revenues were collapsing

The Act is a straightforward budgetary appropriation — a short legal instruction to transfer money from the federal government to the State of Tasmania.
