Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This proclamation sets the start dates for the Water and Sewerage Corporation Act 2012. Most of the Act begins on 1 March 2013, while section 44 and Schedule 2 start later on 1 July 2013. The Governor (with Executive Council advice) fixed these dates and the Department of Treasury and Finance will administer the proclamation. Affected bodies must prepare to meet the Act’s requirements by those dates; the staggered start delays specific obligations and shifts implementation planning for the later-starting provisions.
