Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

What this does: This instrument revokes Tariff Concession Order 0515977 (effective 1 Jan 2007) and replaces it with Tariff Concession Order 0614203, altering the tariff classification of "wire, welding" from 7229.90.00 to 7229.90.90 and assigning Schedule 4 item 50.

Who it affects and why it matters: Importers of welding wire must reclassify shipments and may face different tariff treatment or entitlement under Schedule 4; the change is made under s269SD(2) of the Customs Act by a delegate of the CEO, so administrative discretion and customs compliance processes determine implementation.
