This order cancels a previous import tax break (tariff concession) for coal handling and preparation equipment used in mining.
Previously, businesses could import certain coal processing plants duty-free under Concession Order 0510272. This order revokes that benefit, meaning importers must now pay standard customs duties on these goods.
What equipment is affected?
The revocation applies to coal handling plants comprising:
- Filters, centrifuges, pumps, gearboxes
- Conveyors, pulleys, cranes, drives, and cyclones
Important exception: The revocation does not apply if this equipment is imported together with roller screens or crushers.
When it takes effect:
The change applies from 27 July 2011.
