This order removes a tax break for specific soccer training equipment.
What it does
It cancels a previous Tariff Concession Order (number 8733198) that allowed certain soccer training balls to be imported into Australia without paying customs duty (or at a reduced rate). This means importers must now pay standard tariffs on these goods.
The specific goods
The revocation applies only to soccer training balls with very specific features:
- An elastic band and waist belt attached to the ball
- Circumference between 67 cm and 72 cm
- Weight between 350 g and 470 g when inflated to a pressure of 60–100 kPa
Who is affected
Businesses or individuals importing these specific training balls. The change took effect from 2 October 2007.
