This order cancels a previous duty exemption for specific gym equipment.
What it does:
It revokes Tariff Concession Order 9903454, which previously allowed certain gymnasium training ball sets to be imported without paying customs duty (or at a reduced rate).
Which goods are affected:
Inflatable gym balls made of PVC with a circumference of at least 150 cm, when imported with a pump and inflation needle (falling under customs tariff code 9506.62.00).
When it takes effect:
The cancellation applies retrospectively from 2 October 2007, even though the order was signed later. This means any importations from that date onwards cannot claim the old exemption.
Why it matters:
Importers of these specific training ball sets must now pay standard import duties instead of benefiting from the concessional rate that applied from 1999 to 2007.
