What this does
This order cancels (revokes) a previous Tariff Concession Order that allowed certain imported goods to enter Australia without paying customs duty.
The specific change
- Goods affected: Exhaust stacks for gas turbines used in power stations (falling under tariff code 7308.90.00)
- What happens: From 17 December 2009, these goods lose their duty-free status. Importers must now pay standard customs duty on these items.
Background
The previous concession (Order No. 0807267, made on 1 August 2008) is cancelled. A delegate of the Customs Chief Executive Officer made this revocation under powers in the Customs Act 1901.
