What this does This order cancels (revokes) seven specific Tariff Concession Orders (TCOs) that previously allowed certain goods to be imported into Australia without paying customs duty (duty-free) or at reduced rates.
Who it affects Businesses and importers who were importing goods under the following concession numbers:
Why it matters From 9 December 2010, imports of these specific goods are no longer eligible for the previous duty concessions. Importers must now pay standard customs duties unless they can obtain a different concession or exemption. This is an administrative revocation made under the Customs Act 1901.
