This Order declares that a specific type of radio receiver — one that includes a torch, an adjustable head and a distress-signal function — is covered by item 50 in Part III of Schedule 4 to the Customs Tariff Act 1995. The declaration changes how these imported goods are treated for customs tariff purposes from 1 December 2011 and remains in force until revoked.
The decision is made by a delegate of the Chief Executive Officer of Customs. Importers must identify qualifying products to obtain the stated tariff treatment; the order can be revoked administratively under the Customs Act.
