Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This Order declares that specific tinplate‑curing ovens (Tariff heading 8419.89.90) are goods to which item 50 in Part III of Schedule 4 to the Customs Tariff Act 1995 applies, effective 22 November 2011, made under s.269P of the Customs Act 1901.

Mechanically, it changes the customs tariff treatment applied to imports of these ovens — a decision taken by an executive delegate — which alters the customs duty payable and therefore the import cost for affected importers until the Order is revoked.
