This Order applies a tariff concession (Part III, Schedule 4 item 50 of the Customs Tariff Act 1995) to a specific product: hydraulic shut-off valves that are pressure-differential activated (tariff classification 8481.80.90). Mechanically, it allows importers of those valves to receive the concession from 12 April 2011 until the concession is revoked. Who decides: a delegate of the CEO of Customs. Who pays/benefits: importers gain lower customs duty; the Commonwealth forgoes related duty revenue. Importers must correctly classify goods to claim the concession.
