Plain English Summary

4/10 complexity

This Order (effective 7 Jan 2011) declares that a narrowly defined class of silicon‑carbide refractory bricks (specified by minimum SiC content, density, porosity, crushing strength and thermal conductivity) are goods to which Part III, Schedule 4 item 50 of the Customs Tariff Act 1995 applies. Importers or purchasers of those exact bricks are affected because that classification determines their tariff treatment; the declaration was made by a delegate under s.269P and lasts until revoked under ss.269SC/269SD.
