Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This Order (made under s269P of the Customs Act 1901) declares that goods described as “COVERS, DOCUMENT” (Tariff classification 4820.30.00) are goods to which item 50 of Part III, Schedule 4 of the Customs Tariff Act 1995 applies, effective 17 May 2010 until revoked. Mechanically, it changes the tariff treatment facing importers of those goods (so it affects import costs and downstream pricing) and leaves continuation or revocation to the CEO’s delegate (s269P; ss269SC–269SD).
