This Tariff Concession Order exempts or reduces customs duty for specific power supply units (Tariff classification 8504.40.90) that meet defined voltage, wattage and current ranges and Australian/New Zealand safety and EMC standards. It applies from 24 March 2010 until revoked under the Customs Act (s.269P; revocation ss.269SC–269SD).
Importers pay lower duty for qualifying units; the Chief Executive Officer or delegate (Michael Perry) decides application and revocation. Suppliers must meet the listed technical limits and standards to obtain the concession, affecting sourcing, pricing and compliance choices.
