Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This Order declares a specific wastewater treatment sludge dewatering plant (with the listed components) to be goods to which Part III, Schedule 4 Item 50 of the Customs Tariff Act 1995 applies, effective 24 August 2009 until revoked (see ss 269P, 269SC/269SD).

Mechanically, it changes the tariff treatment applied at import for those described machines; a delegate acting under s 269P makes the declaration, and importers must match the product description to claim the Schedule 4 treatment, creating a classification and compliance task for affected importers.
