Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This Order declares a specific wastewater intake and pretreatment plant (with listed components) classified at tariff code 8421.21.90 to be covered by item 50 in Part III of Schedule 4 to the Customs Tariff Act 1995, effective 24 August 2009 until revoked under ss 269SC/269SD. Mechanically, that makes qualifying imported plants eligible for the Schedule 4 tariff concession; importers therefore face lower import duty while Customs applies the concession and the government forgoes the corresponding tariff revenue.
