Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This Order makes a specific type of recessed, dimmable halogen downlight (9405.10.00) eligible for the Schedule 4 tariff concession from 11 August 2009 by declaring it under s269P of the Customs Act 1901. Importers of downlights that meet the technical limits (12V integrated transformer, ≤50W lamp, CA rating under NZECP54) get the Schedule 4 tariff treatment; the concession can be revoked under ss269SC or 269SD, altering import cost incentives for compliant suppliers.
