Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This order links polypropylene twine (tariff code 5607.49.00) to Item 50 of Part III, Schedule 4 of the Customs Tariff Act 1995, activating a concessional (lower or potentially zero) import duty for that product. Made by Paul Mercer as delegate of the CEO of Customs under section 269P, it took effect 24 July 2009 and remains in force until revoked.

It lowers import costs for Australian businesses that use twine in packaging, agriculture or construction.
