Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

Mechanically, this Order declares that brass valve bodies described as “parts, tempering valve” (tariff classification 8481.90.90) are goods to which Item 50 in Part III of Schedule 4 to the Customs Tariff Act 1995 applies, effective 21 July 2009 until revoked. That changes the import tariff treatment for those specific parts, affecting importers’ duty costs and government revenue, and operates via a delegate’s declaration and the statutory revocation powers in the Customs Act.
