Mechanically, this Order (effective 10 July 2009) declares that a specific kitchen utensil set — a grater, tongs and a can opener — is a good “to which the item in Part III of Schedule 4 to the Customs Tariff Act 1995 applies” (Schedule 4 item 50). The declaration was made by a delegate of the Chief Executive Officer and remains in force until revoked under the Customs Act. The immediate practical effect is to change how those imported goods are treated under the Customs Tariff Act; importers of those sets are the directly affected parties.
