Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

Mechanically, this Order says certain scrap‑motor‑vehicle drainage systems (with optional fuel‑tank, shock‑absorber, gearbox drilling machines or catalytic‑converter cutting machines) are to be treated under Schedule 4 item 50 of the Customs Tariff Act, effective 8 July 2009. It affects importers of those machines by altering their tariff treatment; the declaration was made by a delegate of the CEO (Wendy Knowles) and remains in force until formally revoked, so import classification and administrative action determine who pays.
