Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This Order declares that certain programmable fire‑detection systems (at least 250 independently programmable zones) and their sensor cables (with embedded integrated circuits, defined addresses and semiconductor temperature sensors) are goods to which Item 50 of Part III of Schedule 4 to the Customs Tariff Act 1995 applies. Effective 4 June 2009 until revoked, the declaration changes how those imported products are classified for tariff‑concession purposes and therefore affects importers and customs administration (made by a CEO delegate under s.269P).
