Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This Order declares that specific large motor‑actuated ball valves—defined by bore size, pressure ratings and conformity with ASME and API standards—are goods to which an item in Part III of Schedule 4 to the Customs Tariff Act 1995 applies. In practice, importers of those valves (from 9 April 2009 until revoked) may obtain the Schedule 4 tariff treatment. The declaration shifts import cost and procurement incentives for those exact valve types and creates a paperwork/compliance requirement to prove the valves meet the listed technical specs.
