Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This Order declares certain meat-processing machines (tariff heading 8438.50.00) are subject to item 50 in Part III of Schedule 4 to the Customs Tariff Act 1995, effective 21 November 2007 until revoked under sections 269SC or 269SD. It was made by a delegate under section 269P of the Customs Act 1901. Importers of these machines are directly affected because the Schedule 4 item determines the tariff treatment and therefore import costs; the decision alters import incentives and may affect sourcing and pricing.
