Mechanically, this Tariff Concession Order (made under s.269P of the Customs Act 1901) declares that door bells (tariff classification 8306.10.00) are goods to which Part III, Schedule 4 Item 50 of the Customs Tariff Act 1995 applies from 11 Oct 2007 until revoked (ss.269SC–269SD). The decision was made by a delegate of the CEO (Wendy Knowles). Practically, importers of these doorbells will apply the Schedule 4 treatment at import — affecting duty and administrative treatment — and must follow customs classification and claiming procedures.
