This document is a Tariff Concession Order — a customs ruling that allows specific industrial machinery to be imported into Australia at a reduced duty rate (or duty-free).
What it covers: Forestry residue pellet manufacturing lines (equipment that turns wood waste into fuel pellets). To qualify, the imported goods must include all of the following components:
- Dryers
- Pull floors
- Conveyors
- Presses
Why it matters: Businesses importing this equipment under customs classification 8479.89.90 can claim concession Item 50 in Schedule 4 of the Customs Tariff Act 1995, reducing import costs. The order took effect on 4 September 2007 and remains valid until revoked.
Important catch: The concession only applies if the equipment includes every component listed above — partial sets or individual parts don't qualify.
