What this does: This Order (made under s.269P of the Customs Act 1901) treats certain crepe, stretchable bandages (tariff classification 5806.31.00; width ≤20 cm; length unstretched ≤2.6 m or stretched ≤5 m) as goods to which item 50 in Part III of Schedule 4 to the Customs Tariff Act 1995 applies, effective 16 November 2006. It may be revoked under ss.269SC or 269SD.
Who it affects and why it matters: Importers of these bandages get altered tariff treatment (Schedule 4 item 50), shifting a fiscal cost from importers to the budget and requiring correct classification and compliance by importers.
