This order, made under s269P of the Customs Act 1901, declares imported imitation jewellery (Tariff subheading 7117.19.00 — imitation clasps and/or rings with charms or tags) to be covered by Schedule 4 item 50 from 3 April 2006.
Practically, eligible importers pay the lower tariff set by that Schedule 4 item; the decision was taken by a delegate of the Chief Executive Officer (Paul Mercer) and the order can be revoked under ss269SC–269SD. Claiming the concession requires correct classification and affects customs revenue and importer compliance.
