What it does
This instrument is a Tariff Concession Order (TCO) made under section 269P of the Customs Act 1901. The delegate, Michael Perry, declares that the goods described in Column 1 of the Table are goods “to which the item in Part III of Schedule 4 to the Customs Tariff Act 1995 specified in Column 2 of THE TABLE applies” (first paragraph). The Table identifies the customs tariff classification 8418.99.00 and a detailed list of parts for “ice maker and/or cold water dispenser, domestic refrigerator” (Column 1). Column 2 records “PART III, Schedule 4 Item Number” as 50 (the Table shows the number 50 under the relevant column).
The Order records an operative date of 10.03.06 (Op. 10.03.06 - TC 0604919) and states it “shall have effect from 10.03.06 and continue in force until revoked under sections 269SC or 269SD of the Act, or the date, if any, specified in Column 2” (first paragraph). The instrument is signed or dated 02 June 2006 by the delegate of the Chief Executive Officer (Dated 02 June 2006; Michael Perry, Delegate).
Mechanically, the TCO performs three functions that the text records explicitly. First, it designates a particular set of imported goods by tariff classification and descriptive enumeration (Column 1). Second, it ties those goods to a specific item entry within Part III of Schedule 4 of the Customs Tariff Act 1995 (Column 2, item 50). Third, it fixes the commencement date and the termination mechanism: it is effective from 10 March 2006 and continues until revoked under the specified provisions of the Customs Act 1901 or until any date specified in Column 2.
The Table explicitly lists the covered articles at a granular level: an open-ended alphabetic list from (a) motor rails through to (ad) auger motor assembly, with the latter broken down to components (i) solenoid; (ii) wire harness; (iii) motor; (iv) shield; (v) lamp holder; (vi) mounting bracket (Table, Column 1). The tariff classification 8418.99.00 appears in the Table header. The instrument records the administrative reference “TC 0604919” and prints an administrative footer noting “This is page 1 of 1”.
