This order gives importers a tariff concession (a reduction or elimination of import duty) on specific industrial tanks used in precipitation plants.
What goods are covered?
The concession applies to tanks classified under customs code 8479.82.00 that are either:
- Agglomerators – machines that bind fine particles into larger clusters; or
- Precipitators – equipment that separates solids from liquids through settling.
What does this mean practically?
If you import this equipment, you can apply Schedule 4 Item 50 of the Customs Tariff (which typically means paying no duty or a reduced rate) instead of the standard tariff rate.
When does it apply?
From 9 December 2005 until the order is revoked or replaced.
