Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This Order designates a specific ceramic welding powder (coke oven lining) — defined by silica content, bulk density, thermal expansion and crushing strength — as covered by an item in Part III of Schedule 4 to the Customs Tariff Act. Eligible imports receive the tariff treatment in that Schedule from 10 December 2004 until revoked.

Importers therefore face lower customs duty; the Chief Executive Officer’s delegate made the declaration under s269P and revocation is possible under ss269SC/269SD. Importers must demonstrate the goods meet the listed technical tests, creating testing and classification obligations.
