Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This Order treats a narrowly defined class of heavy, off‑road hydraulic elevating platforms as falling within a tariff concession in Part III, Schedule 4 of the Customs Tariff Act 1995. It took effect on 12 November 2004 and was made under s.269P of the Customs Act 1901; it remains until revoked (ss.269SC–269SD).

It affects importers of mobile, 8×8‑mounted hydraulic platforms with at least 50 m lift and at least 22 m outreach: only imports meeting those technical limits qualify, altering the tariff classification (and therefore duty payable) for that specific equipment.
