8.1 Objectives and application of part

(1) The objectives of this part are as follows—

(a) to maintain Central Station’s role as Sydney’s main transport interchange,

(b) to ensure the conservation of heritage items,

(c) to provide for publicly accessible spaces with a high level of amenity,

(d) to create a network of safe and accessible public spaces that connect to surrounding streets and neighbourhoods,

(e) to require sustainability practices in terms of building performance, energy, water, waste and green infrastructure,

(f) to deliver diverse and affordable housing.

(2) This part applies to the Central Precinct.
