16 Who may issue warrants?
(1) An eligible Judge of the Supreme Court may issue any warrant under this Part.
(2) An eligible Judge of the Local Court may issue—
(a) a surveillance device warrant that authorises the use of a tracking device only, or
(b) a retrieval warrant in respect of a tracking device under a warrant referred to in paragraph (a) if an eligible Judge of the Local Court issued the original warrant.
