### 974 Manner of taking examination
> > (1) The examiner is to conduct an examination in accordance with this rule unless the Court or a judge otherwise orders.
>
> > (2) Subject to this Part, [rule 475](#GS475@EN) to [rule 481](#GS481@EN) , inclusive, and [rule 483](#GS483@EN) to [rule 487](#GS487@EN) , inclusive, apply to the examination as if –
> >
> > > > (a) the proceeding pending before the external court or tribunal concerned were a proceeding in the Court; and
> > >
> > > > (b) the order for the examination were made under [rule 476](#GS476@EN) in that proceeding; and
> > >
> > > > (c) [*\[Rule 974 Subrule (2) amended by S.R. 2008, No. 2, Applied:01 Mar 2008\]*](/view/html/inforce/2008-03-01/sr-2008-002#GS18@EN) if the examiner is a judge or the Associate Judge, an order were made under [rule 476](#GS476@EN) for the examination before a judge or the Associate Judge.
