### 817 Failure to attend or produce documents
> If a party fails to attend an appointment under [rule 815](#GS815@EN) or [816](#GS816@EN) or fails to produce any document required to be produced, the judge, registrar or officer settling the draft may –
>
> > > (a) settle it in the absence of the party; and
> >
> > > (b) dispense with the production of the document; and
> >
> > > (c) act on such material as is appropriate.
