### 785 Service > Service of an application under the Settled Land Act is to be in accordance with the following provisions: > > > > (a) an application by a tenant for life as to the application of purchase money in respect of any estate or interest in land that is less than the fee simple or a reversion dependent on that estate or interest is to be served on the trustees; > > > > > (b) an application for the appointment of trustees under the settlement is to be served on the trustees, if any, and the tenant for life if the tenant for life is not the applicant; > > > > > (c) an application for directions in respect of a matter between a tenant for life and the trustees of the settlement is to be served on such of the tenant for life and the trustees as is not an applicant; > > > > > (d) an application by any person other than the tenant for life is to be served on the tenant for life; > > > > > (e) an application by a tenant for life not within the preceding provisions of this rule is to be made *ex parte* in the first instance.
