### 156 Filing of notice of appearance in different registry > > (1)  If a person lodges a notice of appearance at a registry other than that in which the proceeding is pending, the registrar of that other registry, before accepting it, is to – > > > > > > (a) communicate with the registry in which the proceeding is pending to ensure that it may be filed; and > > > > > > > (b) if it may be, inform the registry of the time, date and place of its lodgment. > > > (2)  The registry in which the proceeding is pending is to note the information in the register of proceedings and the relevant file. > > > (3)  A notice of appearance, if accepted, is taken to be filed when lodged, but it is to be transferred to the other registry and filed there, subject to [rule 158](#GS158@EN) .
