### 139 Service on agents > > (1)  An originating process arising out of a contract entered into within the State by or through an agent residing or carrying on business within the State on behalf of a principal residing or carrying on business out of the State may, with the leave of the Court or a judge, be served on the agent. > > > (2)  Leave of the Court or a judge under [subrule (1)](#GS139@Gs1@EN) is to be given before the determination of the agent's authority or business relationship with the principal. > > > (3)  The plaintiff is to send a copy of the order and the originating process by certified post to the defendant or respondent at the defendant's or respondent's address out of the State.
