### 189 Transfer of proceedings from one registry to another
> > (1) Subject to the [Rules of Court](/view/html/inforce/2026-04-12/sr-1976-078#) , any party to an original proceeding in the Supreme Court may at any time apply to the Court or a judge for an order that the proceeding be transferred from the registry in which it is pending, if that is not the principal registry, to the principal registry or some other registry, or from the principal registry to a district registry; and the Court or a judge may in its or his discretion make an order accordingly.

> > (2) Thereupon the proceedings, and such original documents, if any, as are filed in the registry in which the original proceeding is pending, shall be transmitted by the registrar of that registry, to the registry to which the original proceeding is ordered to be transferred, and the original proceeding shall thenceforth proceed in that registry in the same manner as if it had been there originally commenced, and may thereafter be again transferred in like manner to any other registry.
