### 165 Judgments to carry interest

V No. 78 \]**\[Section 165 Amended by No. 55 of 1965, s. 3 and Sched. 1 \]**\[Section 165 Amended by S.R. 1977, No. 150 \]*Every such judgment and order as is mentioned in [section 164](#GS164@EN) [(1)](#GS164@Gs1@EN) shall carry interest at the rate of 5 per centum per annum, or such other rate as may be prescribed by the [Rules of Court](/view/html/inforce/2026-04-12/sr-1976-078#) , from the time of the trial or inquiry, or, if there has been no trial or inquiry, from the time of signing or entering up judgment; and the amount of such interest shall be stated in the body of, and may be levied under, a writ of execution on such judgment.
