The amendments take effect when the making is notified in the Gazette (rule 2) and the instrument names the Principal Rules as the Supreme Court Rules 2000 (rule 3). It applies to users and officers of the Supreme Court by altering court procedure; the instrument is signed by the Chief Justice and puisne judges and is administered by the Department of Justice.
