Tasmania regulation
These Rules amend the Supreme Court Rules to adopt the Hague Service Convention’s procedures for serving civil or commercial court documents overseas. They come into effect when the Convention enters into force for Australia.
The changes affect litigants, lawyers and court staff by changing how foreign service is done and recorded. Parties (not the court) will generally meet the costs of overseas service and the court/Registrar administer the new procedures (rules 2–3).
