69C Transfer of judicial officer of another jurisdiction to ACT court (1) This section applies if a judicial exchange arrangement provides for the transfer to an ACT court of a judicial officer of a corresponding court. (2) The Chief Justice may, in accordance with the judicial exchange arrangement and with the agreement of the senior judicial officer of the corresponding court, appoint a judicial officer of the corresponding court to act as a judicial officer of the ACT court. (3) The judicial officer of the corresponding court is qualified for appointment despite any law of this jurisdiction to the contrary. (4) The maximum term for which an appointment under this section may be made on any one occasion is 6 months. (5) However, an appointment under this section may not extend beyond the retirement age for judicial officers of the ACT court. (6) A judicial officer of a corresponding court may be appointed under this section to more than one ACT court. (7) A judicial officer whose appointment under this section has ceased may complete or otherwise continue to deal with any matters relating to proceedings in the ACT court that have been heard, or partly heard, by the judicial officer before the appointment under this section ceased.
