Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

Short 1964 temporary supply law lets the Treasurer withdraw £1 million from the Consolidated Revenue Fund as an advance for 1964–65 to meet special or one‑off expenses not covered by ordinary services.

It’s a stop‑gap to keep government spending lawful while the main budget is settled; the advance must be spent within the year and later accounted for in budget papers.
