Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What it does: This regulation scraps (repeals) old wartime rules that controlled how flax was grown and distributed in Australia.

Background: During World War II, the government made regulations (between 1940-1943) to control flax production under the Supply and Development Act. Flax was needed to make materials like linen, canvas, and parachute cords for the war effort.

What changes: This regulation simply cancels all those old flax controls. It lists the specific regulations being abolished (from 1940-1943) and removes them from the law books entirely.

Who it affects: Farmers and businesses involved in flax production no longer need to follow these specific wartime production controls. By the mid-1950s, these emergency measures were no longer needed.
