Commonwealth act
This Act has been repealed and is no longer in force. It is retained for historical reference.
This Act authorises the Commonwealth to withdraw £5,349,050 from the Consolidated Revenue Fund for the financial year ending 30 June 1939, converting the federal budget into lawful spending. Major allocations fund defence, postal/telephone services, Treasury operations, war veterans' services, other government departments and territorial administration, with provisions for a £500,000 advance for urgent needs and £400,000 for tax refunds. All spending lapses after 30 June 1939 and must be charged only to listed appropriations.
