Commonwealth legislation
This instrument declares a list of named Commonwealth bodies to be “approved authorities” under the Superannuation Act 1990. Mechanically, that brings those organisations and their workplace super arrangements within the Act’s regulatory regime (the instrument is made under the definition in section 3(b)). It matters to the named bodies, their employees and super funds because it creates or confirms statutory superannuation obligations and administrative duties; those employers and funds bear the compliance and contribution costs.

This Declaration is the Superannuation (PSS) Approved Authority Inclusion Declaration 1995.
This instrument is made under paragraph (b) of the definition of approved authority in section 3 of the Superannuation Act 1990.
In this declaration, unless the contrary intention appears:
the Act means the Superannuation Act 1990.
Each of the following authorities and bodies is declared, under paragraph (b) of the definition of approved authority in section 3 of the Act, to be an approved authority for the purposes of the Act:

Australian Securities and Investments Commission
Civil Aviation Safety Authority
Cotton Research and Development Corporation
Export Finance and Insurance Corporation
Fisheries Research and Development Corporation
Grains Research and Development Corporation

Indigenous Business Australia
Indigenous Land and Sea Corporation
Private Health Insurance Administration Council
Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation
