Plain English Summary

This Declaration, made under section 3D of the Superannuation (Productivity Benefit) Act 1988, updates the pay‑period contribution amounts and salary thresholds that determine continuing superannuation contributions for the 1996–97 financial year. It sets a three‑tier schedule: a fixed low rate, a 6% band for middle salaries, and a fixed high rate. Employers (or other contributors bound by the Act) must use these substituted amounts to calculate per‑pay‑period contributions; the Declaration takes effect on gazettal.
